More Wonderful Students Over the years we have had many wonderful Davidson College International Students in our home. Even though they have had their own great host parents, they spent time in our home and became special to us and our family. We have had the opportunity to enjoy them and meet many of their families when they visited in Davidson. Following are some of these special students. (Above) June Lee, PhD in Child Psychology - Currently working for the Sesame Network in New York City; Samia Mohammed - Currently working for UNICEF in Ethiopia; Jasmina Radeva, Masters from Duke University - Currently working for a research firm in Boston; Toh Hean Ch'ng, PhD in Molecular Biology - Currently working at Berkley University in California. |

. . . Tania Tambiah from Sri Lanka was Brenda's host daughter and graduated Davidson in 1989. She moved to Sydney, Austrailia, where she received her Master's Degree from the University there and also works for the University. . . . Berna Demilrap graduated Davidson in 1997. Berna is from Turkey. After Davidson, Berna received her Master's Degree from Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, and is currently working in Virginia. . . . . Lulu Srinivahsan from India graduated in 1997. Lulu returned to her home in Mumbai where she met and married a young man. They then moved to San Francisco where he worked with a computer firm. We had a wonderful visit with her Mom & Dad, Shilu & Gopal for a week at her graduation. . . . Amali Armarasinghe is from Sri Lanka. She graduated Davidson in 1998, and went on to George Washington University to receive her Master's Degree. She is working in the DC area. . . . . . Toh Hean Chng from Malaysia graduated Davidson in 1999. He got his PhD in Molecular Biology from Princeton. Toh Hean currently works at Berkley University in California. . . . . June Lee from Korea graduated Davidson in 1999. She obtained Master's and Doctoral degrees at the University of Texas in Austin in Child Psychology. She currently works for the Sesame Network in New York City. . . . Samia Mohammed from Ethiopia graduated Davidson in 1999. After graduation she returned to her home and began working for UNICEF, for whom she works today. We just had word from her brother that she is getting married in April, 2007!! . . . . . Jasmina Radeva from Bulgaria graduated Davidson in 2000. Jasmina worked in Durham at the Research Triangle Park and got her Master's Degree at Duke. She is working in Boston for a consulting group now. . . Cornelia Jeske was a one-year German student in 2000-2001 whose host parents are our neighbors. We visited Cornelia in Germany several times when we were there. She received a grant from the University of Wurzburg to do a two month study back here in Davidson and stayed with us while she was here. . . Iris Schreiber was the one-year German student in 2000-2001. Iris' family, Magda, Werner and her sister, Anna came for graduation and they traveled for a few weeks here in the States. We had the opportunity to visit with Iris' family in Ansbach when we were in Germany. . . . . Nami Kim from Korea graduated in 2001. She works for Morgan Stanley in Korea and just sent us an announcement (2/07) that she is getting married in May in Korea to Alex!! . . . . . . Nejib Mohammed, Samia's brother, graduated Davidson in 2001. After graduation he attended American University Law School in Washington, DC and currently practices law there. . . . . . . Yuka Ohta from Japan graduated in 2001. She moved to Washington, DC, and works for Morgan Stanley. Yuka and Michael married in October 2006 in Hawaii!! . . . . . . Amrote Abdella from Ethiopia graduated Davidson in 2004. She was the roommate of our French host daughter, Charlotte, in 2003-2004. Jerry was Amrote's mentor in the Leadership Davidson program. Amrote is currently working in Boston. . . . . Emmanuel Amos-Abanye is from Ghana. He graduated in 2004. Emmanuel was also mentored by Jerry in the Leadership Davidson program. "E-Man" is currently teaching school in Philadelphia. . . . . . Jimin Kim from Korea was Brenda's host child. She graduated in 2004 and returned to Korea to work in consulting. . . . . Alba Armillas Carbonel - Alba was the one-year Spanish student in 2004/2005, the same year as our host daughter Jane Mazer. They were very good friends and she spent a lot of time in our home. When we went to France in June of 2006, we took five days to drive to Zaragosa, Spain, where Alba is in school and visit with her, then on to Huesca, her home, to visit with her family! . . . . Fethi Mohammed was a four year student from Ethiopia who graduated in 2006. He is carrying on a family tradition since his sister, Samia, and his brother, Nejib, both are Davidson graduates. He currently is working for Sperry Van Ness in Cornelius and getting his realtor's license while he decides which graduate schools to apply to. . . . . Kwesi Fynn, Tettey Wilson-Tei, and Nana Kyei are from Ghana. Tettey and Nana will graduate in 2007 and Kwesi will graduate in 2008. They are good friends with our host son, Will Scheffers, and have spent much time with us. . . Klea Miho was born in Albania, currently lives in Greece and is a Freshman at Davidson (Class of 2014). . . . .-
