2007 Graduation Podium . . . . .Caroline, Jerry, Myriam, Gwyn, Natalia, Kin, Isabel

We were very surprised and highly honored to be the recipients of the 2007 Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award at Davidson's graduation on May 20th! As we sat listening to Dean of Students, Tom Shandley, begin the presentation, we heard words about a couple involved with international students, but many couples are involved with international students. Then, he spoke of Davidson Basketball players and Gwyn and I looked at each other in wonder. Several of the international students sitting around us said "he's talking about you!", and then we heard out names. What made this honor so special to us is that it began with our "children",--nominations from them, and voted on by faculty and staff, for doing something that we love--which is loving the amazingly wonderful international students we have come to know over the years!!
